Funding : CHF 8\u2019500<\/p><p>Percutaneous closure of a patent foramen ovale (PFO) to prevent recurrent paradoxical thromboembolic events has proven to be safe and effective.<\/p><p>However, there is limited data on gender-specific differences among patients. This research project is proposed to determine gender differences in clinical profile, procedural characteristics, and echocardiographic and clinical outcomes, based on a community-based registry.<\/p><p>Since 2017, all patients undergoing percutaneous PFO closure at LUKS have been enrolled in the PAL Registry.
