Adherence to Guideline-Based Diuretic Use and Urinary Sodium Monitoring: A Case-Based Survey Across Specialties in Three Countries

Acute heart failure is one of the most common causes of hospitalization and is associated with high morbidity and mortality.

The central therapeutic goal is rapid and effective decongestion using diuretics. Current guidelines recommend evaluating treatment success early on, including through measurement of urinary sodium concentration.

However, little is known about how consistently these recommendations are implemented in clinical practice.

This project captures actual practice in initial diuretic therapy using practice-based case examples across three countries. The findings are intended to sustainably improve the quality of care.
